Art studio workshops will explore several facets of stop-motion animation. Each workshop is presented Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20 at 11:00am, 12:30pm, 2:00pm.
“Clayin’ around with Gumby & Pokey” Ceramics Room ED 170 – Participants will hand paint and glaze a bisque ware Gumby or Pokey.
“Flippin’ Out” Drawing Room ED 167 – Participants will create a flip book, using drawing techniques and simple animation.
“Set The Scene: Painting A Stop Motion Background” Painting Room ED 153 – Participants will use acrylic paints to create their own stop-motion backdrop.
“Screen Printing A Character” Screen-printing Room ED 235 – Participants will create a multi-colored screen print and learn about limited editions.
“Photograph Your Character” Photography Room Ed 140 – Participants learn lighting, backdrops, selfie techniques to create amazing photos.
“Creating a Bendable Armature” Sculpture Room ED 165 – Participants will use wire to create an armature for a stop-motion clay figure.
“Make Your Own Stop-Motion Animation” Digital Media Room ED233 – Animate a 15-second stop-motion animation and take home a copy on a Gumby portable storage device. ($10 fee includes flash drive with your animation).
